So Venice …… Romantic, Busy , Expensive but totally Worth It

Advise I was given & wish to share.

Stay on San Marco or Cannaregio worth the extra money & effort to find something special.After the hoards of tourists have left the city it’s all yours to explore.

The best church tour I’ve ever done San Marco after dark tour , this tour only operates a few days a week & limited numbers book through Walks of Italy. The basilica is all yours to admire & truly appreciate the architecture, craftsmanship & history of this MUST SEE Basilica in the world.

The hop on hop off water bus tour. Make sure you spend time to visit Murano especially the glass blowers

Aperitivo is a Venetian tradition most little bars will charge a surcharge with a drink but you get tasty morsels of food . We love the little stand up bars where you stay for a couple of drinks then explore more of the city.

GET LOST !!!! No but really just wander around the city crossing bridges, little lanes , but take your phone if you need to find way back.

Wear flat shoes the cobblestone streets will be hell on heels !
Get cards or take photo of restaurant you might see throughout your exploration of the Venice so you can find it again.
