FROCKIN THE OUTBACK….More than just a Dress
THE DREAM……..
I’m proud to volunteer at Because We Care Boutique on the beautiful Central coast of New South Wales . This project under the Iris Foundation is a place where women & girls are referred to be styled & take home clothes for moving on with their lives ALL FOR FREE!!!
We are fortunate to witness first hand the transformation after a women has clothes that are quality, fit perfectly and make them feel beautiful, empowered & most importantly special.
So after a team meeting last October we discussed Sharyn’s idea of a bus doing a pop up Because We Care in the outback. We were all in agreement this would be amazing……….so I went home and that night at 3.30 am awoke to thinking “YES WE COULD DO THIS’ and call it Frockin The Outback”
The next few days I spent hours calling various service providers in remote New South Wales after finally getting to talk to the relevant people I asked the question “is this just fanciful or something that is needed.?”
I received a resounding YES there is absolutely nothing like this here!!!!
With this information & contacts I went to Sharyn & explained what a difference her initial dream would mean to the women in outback New South Wales & also I did a rough plan & costing .
Sharyn gave the nod !!!
Next was write a proposal to the board of the Iris Foundation with risks, outcomes etc & wait……………..
After the next board meeting we received the answer we were wanting which was YES, however we have to coordinate and most importantly do separate fundraising to make this dream come to life.
So Frockin The Outback was born but now for the reality…………
Kara Holmes (onshore fitness) supporter , myself Paula, Amanda & Vickie the 3 gals to frock the outback
Next……REALITY SETS IN!!!!!
